Take an inventory. Look at the items you've got in your kitchen. Are there items you don't use? Non-functioning items or things you simply Do not want? You can divide these things into three categories: trash, sell or donate. The items that you use the most should be set aside as well. The things you use daily should be put in a handy place where you can get to them easily. Items like baking gear can be stored near the oven or stove in a holder on the counter as opposed to taking up beneficial space in drawers or cupboards. The key here is convenience and accessibility.

One solution is to look at each area of your kitchen as having its own unique use. Each of these sections accommodates different tasks, like chopping, cooking, serving, and storing. Some of the zones will serve several purposes. Which items are complimentary to each of these zones? Can you store these items within their respective zones? For example, you may choose to put dishes near to the sink, or possibly near the oven for convenient serving. It really depends on you and how you operate. Remove everything from all cabinets and drawers.

Put things that work together in groups. As an example, you may put all glassware with glassware, plastics with plastics, pots and pans with pots and pans, silverware with cutlery, etc. During this process get rid of anything inoperable or that you do not use if you haven't purged them yet. You can give away, sell or trash these items.

use the same approach for items in your food cupboards, refridgerator, and freezer. Now it's time to put everything away in its new designated area. Remember the function of each section of the kitchen, and place the items used ordinarily within them close-by. The things that work together need to be placed in logical places. As an example, keep pots, pans, ladles, spatulas and other cookware near the stove while cutting boards, kitchen utensils, carrot peelers and cheese graters should be in the food preparation zone. Keep anything potentially hazardous out of reach of small kids while not being used. Things you do not use often can be kept on high shelves.
